Sunghee Bang, an FIT graduate is not only a designer to watch, but one to study. With various internships under her belt- including Alexander McQueen where several of her print designs made it on to the spring/simmer 2009 collection- she’s already made a name for herself. Her unique approach to minimalism is fresh, thoughtful, and androgynous. Inspired by the Nomad and the Aviator, Shunghee’s fall/winter 2011 collection is full of chunky knits, structured leather jackets, and beautifully draped jersey. Inspiring and innovative, Sunghee is well on her way as an international designer.

Who will be walking the red carpet tomorrow evening? I’m talking designers here- from Paris couture week. Enough time has gone by for garments to be flown in, fitted, and altered. That may be wishful thinking, but the Oscars are a dreamy place (with high standards), and I’m daring to dream.

Here’s my red carpet wish list… and possible predictions.

Beyond a shiny new take on the pea coat, Hilfiger has discovered the perfect way to take your sweater from fall to spring… and back again. How, you may ask? Print it on silk, of course!

Day.

Just say yes to oxfords again and again… and again. They’ve become a wardrobe staple, and Porter Grey has put the spotlight on a new style: the ankle oxford. Okay, I might have just made that up, but you must admit they’re on to something here. Sure, it’s not a major breakthrough, but for a girl who normally shies away from trends, I’m now ready to try the lace-up.

The perfect shade of emerald green shadow is almost worth letting a guy snip at your hair while it’s in a ponytail…
